She was the voice behind one of the most iconic movie soundtrack songs of the last decade, but no one knew her name.
How to Watch
Watch America’s Got Talent Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peaco*ck.
In 2022, Loren Allred stepped out from behind the shadows and revealed she was the voice behind The Greatest Showman’s “Never Enough” on Britain’s Got Talent, earning a standing ovation from the crowd and her place as a star.
But what is she doing now after that success?
Not surprisingly, Allred is still putting her epic vocals to good use and just posted photos on Instagram in August of herself performing as part of the Hitman: David Foster and Friends Asia tour.
Allred also released a new six-track EP I Hear Your Voice earlier this year.

“Covid put everything into perspective for me,” Allred told Haute Living of wanting to create a more public persona. “After not working for so long, I knew I had to put myself out there in a bigger way to make sure I can continue to sing professionally for the rest of my life. One key part of sustaining this career is having some level of recognition, and I had to get over the fear of losing some anonymity.”
What song did Loren Allred sing in her Audition on Britain’s Got Talent?
It was that realization that prompted the Brooklyn, New York resident to step out onto the Britain's Got Talent stage in 2022.

“I think some of you guys have actually heard my voice, but you don’t know my face. I sang the song ‘Never Enough’ on The Greatest Showman,” a nervous Allred told the crowd.
As Allred explained, she was hired to do the reference vocals for the actresses in the movie musical to help them learn the songs. Actress Rebecca Ferguson decided she’d lipsync the song for the movie and Allred could sing the actual vocals.
“You sang one of the biggest songs of all time. You’ve now revealed it wasn’t the actress singing the song in the movie, it was you singing that song, so why didn’t you get that big deal after the song?” a stunnedJudge Simon Cowell asked.
“I was more comfortable singing behind the scenes, but I feel kind of like the song was meant for me and I’m kind of ready to put a face to the song so I’m here to do that,” Allred replied.
Then she launched into a show-stopping performance of “Never Enough” that brought the crowd and judges to their feet and earned Allred the Golden Buzzer from Judge Amanda Holden.
“That was just so unbelievable,” Holden told her.
Allred later described the empowering moment to The New York Post.
“It really felt so good, because I was facing my fear head-on,” shesaid. “And that was the moment where I really saw like, ‘OK, there’s no going back.’”
What original song did Loren Allred sing on Britain’s Got Talent?
Allred made it into the finals on Britain’s Got Talent and sang her own original song “Last Thing I’ll Ever Need.”

The performance impressed the Judges, but it wasn’t enough to take home the top prize and she finished 9th in the competition.
Was Loren Allred on The Voice?
Britain’s Got Talentisn’t Allred’s only claim to reality competition fame. She also appeared on The Voice in 2012, landing on Coach Adam Levine’s team. She was eliminated the first week after the live shows began.
Four years earlier, Allred auditioned for American Idol, an experience chronicled at the time by The Deseret News.
Where is Loren Allred now?
These days, music is still a central focus in Allred’s life. Earlier this year, she released her new EP,I Hear Your Voice, named after the title track.
She wrote the song in honor of her grandmother.
“When I was writing, I specifically had my grandmother in mind. She left me voicemails telling me how proud she was of me, and to ‘put more videos on YouTube,’” Allred told Haute Living. “After she passed, I’d go back and listen to them when I missed her.”
Some of the voicemails were even included in the song’s music video as a “perfect tribute to my Nana,” Allred said.
Allred was also one of the singers featured in music icon David Foster’s Hitman tour through Asia in August.
“After an incredible first night of the tour, I was asked to perform ‘I Have Nothing’ with @davidfoster for the rest of the shows!,” she gushed on Instagram along with a clip of the performance. “To be able to perform this song alongside the original songwriter/producer of the iconic Bodyguard soundtrack is what dreams are made of! We miss you Whitney!!”
Allred also shared last month that she was the “musical guest” at The Andrea Bocelli Foundation founders dinner, describing it as “magical evening.”
It doesn’t look like Allred plans to slow down any time soon.
