About Cory Wells
Born in the 8-bit era, raised by the 16-bit era, and perfected by the 32-bit era, Cory's roots grew from the likes Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man to the world of Resident Evil and Castlevania. Owning a PlayStation at launch allowed to witness the potential of both sports games and racing games along with opening his world to 3-D Fighting titles. Finally, after having participated in the PC gaming world of the late 1990s and early 2000s, the core for his gaming craft was set. From here, it was on to the hardware tech of the future.
Industry Focus
Cory focuses on a handful of genres that also includes PC hardware, gaming hardware, and overall technology in the gaming sphere. The focus of genres includes sports games, racing games, horror games, and fighting games. Cory has also covered shooters, role-playing games, puzzle games and indie games. Cory has also conducted video interviews with gaming personalities and creates video content for the Hardcore Gamer YouTube channel.
Favorite Games
Cory's interest in video games spans decades, thus a wide range of availability for his favorite games of all time. In no particular orders, these are some of the favorites: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the original Resident Evil, Mega Man IV, Chrono Cross, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo, Tekken 2, Street Fighter 4, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
Favorite Console
Cory has bounced around with a few consoles and while he is a proponent of PC gaming, the PlayStation has been the consistent choice. Cory picked up an original PlayStation on launch day back in 1995, however held off on the PlayStation 2 until Gran Turismo 3 was included in a bundle. Cory switched over to Xbox during that decade and picked up a 360 on launch day before picking up a PS3 a few years later. The PS4 and PS5 were both acquired on launch day. Cory is also fond of the Nintendo Wii U, and still owns a PlayStation Vita.
