10 Shipment

Most Chaotic Map

Shipment was first introduced in Modern Warfare. Since then, it has seen many different remasters and reimaginings that take advantage of its close-quarters layout. Shotguns are a blast on this map, with plenty of opportunities to one-hit kill opponents that don’t check corners.

Shipment has the fastest gameplay loop since close-quarters combat ensures that players encounter each other almost immediately after spawning. This has made it fun for players who enjoy non-stop action and don't want to bother trying to find enemies.

Released in Modern Warfare 2, Terminal was based on one of the most controversial Call of Duty missions of all time. It took place at an airport and, due to its layout, offered a wide variety of combat scenarios.

The outdoor area with the plane was great for long-range engagement, while the inner atrium and the inside of the plane made for some close-quarters combat. This unique layout made it a fan favorite, and it was quickly brought back in the original Modern Warfare 3 and Infinite Warfare.

7 Firing Range

There are unspoken rules when playing on Firing Range: there is always someone in the crow's nest overlooking the map, and there is always someone corner camping in the trailer. This made the entry an easy map to find enemies.

Firing Range would come back multiple times in the Black Ops series as one of the best three-lane maps. In Black Ops 2, it would get a complete reimagining as a movie backlot. This reimagining added movie props and sets while retaining its original map layout.

Favela was released in the original Modern Warfare 2 after being a scrapped concept for Modern Warfare’s DLC season. With tall buildings for sniping and alleyways for surprise close-quarters combat, Favela quickly became a fan-favorite map.

A Perseus training facility, Checkmate offered plenty of cover and open spaces with a focus on players fighting for the plane at the center of the map.

3 Bog

Bog was based on the Call of Duty Modern Warfare mission with a similar name, The Bog. Every set piece is iconic and memorable, such as the bus, the broken tank, and what players named the Hamburger Hill. Bog is a sniper dream map with very few places to seek cover and plenty of open space to spot and take down opponents from afar.

This also made it easy to noob tube enemies using grenade launchers and the perfect map to grind for XP. For a map filled with so much junk, it is a treasure for Call of Duty fans everywhere.

2 Hijacked

Hijacked took war towards international waters. Set on a hijacked yacht, players would either spawn in the back end of the boat or the front. This single track forced players to always run towards combat, allowing for constant encounters with opponents.

Hijacked also had a tight path beneath the boat, allowing players to get under the battlefield and pop up on the other side of the boat. Hijacked would also make multiple appearances in the series, even as a landmark in Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode.

Nuketown was first introduced in the lineup during Call of Duty Black Ops. Nuketown became a fan favorite for being a relatively small map with defining features. Unlike many other maps, Nuketown was not based on any multiplayer map.
